I was recently working with a client in a Radical Deep Dive Breakthrough Session and was re-acquainted with an amazing truth of the unconscious mind.
I am sure it was no accident that it came up when it did because it has been something I needed a reminder of myself!
Here it is:
When you create a goal or put something out there as your heart’s desire, your“stuff” or baggage (past programming or limiting beliefs) which resides within you that could potentially prevent you from getting to your goal is presented to you for resolution and release!
Though our past programming can, and often does trip us up or derails our efforts to reach our desired goals or outcomes, this function of the unconscious mind actually serves as a way to solve for that!
Your “stuff” can appear as incredibly difficult circumstances, physical ailments/injuries, disputes with others, your perceived limitations or anything else that is essentially an obstacle between you and your goal.
When these things happen, our natural human response is to resist, ignore/numb, or give up.
In truth, your obstacles are precisely the things that need to be dealt with, the lessons that need to be learned, or beliefs/emotions that need to be released for you to get to your heart’s desire!
In other words, your baggage presents itself in the way of these obstacles because your unconscious mind knows it must be released for you to get from where you are, to where you want to be.
Isn’t that awesome?! When you appreciate the incredible gift that is, you can actually begin to welcome the obstacles and lean into the learning.
When we disregard this amazing opportunity to break through and release our “stuff”, we get set back and the very things that have kept us stuck just get compounded and we continue to struggle.
Now, I can appreciate that it seems easier said than done. You might be sitting there thinking, “that’s great Pegah but I have tried countless things to deal with my stuff, and I am STILL struggling.” I get it! I used to be right there with you.
What I know now however is this,
- It begins begins with you being willing to deal with your baggage, own it, and face it head on.
- Talking incessantly about it, whether with friends, loved ones or a therapist, may help to face it and get present to it, and at some point you have to be willing to let it go and release it! Otherwise you are just retelling your story and getting more and more invested in it
- You can spend years and years on the release process or let your stuff go in a matter of minutes.
That third one is where even I was skeptical when I first learned about this beautiful technique called MER® (mental and emotional release therapy).
How on earth could I release decades worth of stuff that I had been grappling with in self help seminars, therapy, and personal growth book after book in just minutes? I had to experience it to be believe it. And I must say, my skeptical mind was blown!
My practitioner skillfully guided me in the technique and one after the other years of emotional baggage and limiting beliefs that had kept me in a state of perpetual anxiety and sometimes debilitating depression disappeared.
It felt like a dark cloud had opened up to reveal the bright beam of light in my heart. I was blown away even though I didn’t quite “get” how it worked.
When I did the training and became a Master Practitioner of MER®, I knew it was something I would implement immediately with my clients. The simplicity of how it works is what makes it so effective. Check out this article on the clinical trials done by Dr. Patrick Scott on the efficacy of MER®.
Isn’t it time you take advantage of your obstacles as the amazing opportunities that they are and finally let go of the baggage that stands in your way?
